For Spring/Summer 2027, Rocky Star brought a maximalist vision of occasionwear to London Fashion Week, where intricate embroidery, sequins, feathers and metallic appliqué made craftsmanship impossible to ignore.

Rocky Star has never been interested in understatement, and his SS27 collection continued that conversation with dresses, corsets and skirts built from layers of embroidery, sequins, feathers, fringe and intricate appliqué. The result is fashion that demands to be examined up close: surfaces shift as they catch the light, while elaborate embellishment gives even familiar silhouettes an almost jewellery-like quality. Rather than chasing the stripped-back minimalism that has dominated so much of contemporary luxury, Rocky Star embraces the pleasure of doing more.

There is also a clear conversation between the designer's Indian craft traditions and the international wardrobe he is presenting at London Fashion Week. The womenswear leans unapologetically towards glamour and occasionwear, while the menswear takes a more restrained route, with floral embroidery appearing across grey, beige and silver tailoring. It is in these quieter pieces that the balance feels most considered, allowing the craftsmanship to sit alongside the cut rather than consume it. SS27 ultimately makes its case through technique: clothes that take time to make, and aren't afraid to show it.
