Rami Al Ali Fall 2026 Couture
Rami Al Ali looked to the desert not as a place of separation, but as a landscape of shared history, craftsmanship and cultural exchange for his Fall 2026 Couture collection. The Dubai-based Syrian designer explored the Middle East’s common roots through a refined presentation that traced the changing moods of the desert from dawn to dusk, transforming its textures, colours and traditions into elegant couture.
The collection opened with a gown inspired by the ghutra, the traditional square scarf worn across the Gulf region, reimagined through geometric folds and mother-of-pearl embellishment. For Al Ali, the garment became a symbol of resilience and protection, while the wider collection drew from desert landscapes through palettes of pearlescent white, gold, grey and black. Layered sequins mimicked the texture of palm trees, while shimmering fabrics referenced traditional tents and the movement of sand beneath changing light.
Beyond the visual references, Al Ali explored the historic exchanges that shaped the region, incorporating details inspired by the Silk Road, including damask, gold-leaf techniques and botanical motifs that travelled between East and West. Yet the strength of the collection remained in its effortless silhouettes — elongated columns, asymmetric draping and gowns that appeared casually arranged despite their precise construction.
In a couture season often divided between theatrical fantasy and wearable elegance, Al Ali found a balance between the two. His Fall 2026 collection celebrated heritage without becoming nostalgic, proving that couture can preserve cultural memory while remaining modern, understated and deeply personal.
