Philipp Plein Spring 2027

For Spring/Summer 2027, Philipp Plein returned to Milan with the kind of spectacle that has become synonymous with the designer. Staged at the city's hippodrome, the show combined a runway with a monster truck performance, as souped-up cars raced around the venue and motorcyclists performed tricks behind the models. Plein described the event as a show for Italy and Milan, and the finale saw the designer wave from the cab of a blue monster truck as the collection made its final pass.

The clothes followed the same maximalist spirit. Tailoring came in pastel double-breasted suits and satin sets, while Plein varsity jackets, sneakers and loose double denim brought a streetwear edge. For evening, the designer turned up the shine with minidresses covered in coloured crystal flowers, ombré fur coats and denim suits decorated with gold palm trees and heart motifs.

It was a collection built around Plein's familiar combination of tailoring, sportswear, glamour and unapologetic sparkle. The monster trucks may have provided the headline, but the clothes carried the same message: fashion can be loud, playful and designed to entertain. For a designer who calls himself the "king of bling", Spring 2027 was very much business as usual — just with considerably larger wheels.
