Monse Spring 2027

For Spring 2027, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia returned to the Monse runway with a softer, more romantic interpretation of their signature deconstruction, balancing undone details with glamorous femininity.

Returning to the runway after their departure from Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia treated Monse’s Spring 2027 show as a fresh beginning. Set on a rooftop at The Refinery at Domino, the collection revisited the brand’s familiar tension between mannish construction and feminine glamour, but approached it with a looser, more romantic attitude. The designers described the process as an “unraveling, undone” way of working, allowing imperfections and movement to become part of the clothes.

Fringe became one of the collection’s defining details, transforming familiar wardrobe staples into something considerably less conventional. A barn jacket and strapless dress opened the show with multicoloured green and pink fringe, while denim skirts, tailoring and everyday pieces were finished with lengths that swished around the body. Sequins, paillettes and striped knits brought a more polished side to the collection, creating a balance between practical dressing and Monse’s instinct for occasionwear.

The para tulip offered another expression of the collection’s deliberately imperfect beauty. Appearing as three-dimensional halterneck straps, engineered lace and custom prints, its tattered edges reflected the designers’ interest in clothing that feels lived-in rather than pristine. Easy silk pieces and alluring organza dresses layered over Araks intimates brought a softer sensuality to the Monse vocabulary, revealing more of the body without abandoning the label’s sense of construction.

For Kim and Garcia, the return to the runway was less about starting over than rediscovering what Monse can do. Familiar staples were pulled apart, embellished and softened, while the contrast between masculine structure and feminine ease remained firmly intact. The result was a collection that made Monse feel romantic without becoming polished away, leaving room for the imperfections that have always given the brand its character.
