LaQuan Smith Spring 2027
For Spring 2027, LaQuan Smith expanded beyond the nightlife dressing that made his name, introducing more daytime pieces while retaining the sensuality, confidence and glamour at the heart of the brand.
LaQuan Smith has long been associated with the kind of clothes designed for midnight: body-conscious minidresses, catsuits and pieces that demand attention. For Spring 2027, however, the designer acknowledged that his customer is changing and increasingly wants to wear LaQuan Smith across different parts of her day. The result is a collection that keeps the brand’s sex appeal intact while giving it more room to exist within an everyday wardrobe.
That shift is most apparent in the styling and fabrication. A ruffled evening blouse is paired with denim capris and a trenchcoat, while asymmetric shirtdresses expose the leg without relying on the overt drama of a traditional party dress. Yellow and orange bring new colour into Smith’s palette, while denim and crisp poplin provide a more grounded counterpoint to his familiar evening fabrics. The clothes remain body-conscious, but they feel less restricted to the club or red carpet.
Smith’s fascination with contrast runs through the collection, particularly in the meeting of hard and soft materials. Embossed python, feathered bird embroidery and technical fabrics appear alongside silk faille and lace, creating tension between toughness and delicacy. Python becomes especially striking in fringed biker jackets, flared trousers and custom boots, while pony-hair Cavallino printed to resemble deer skin adds another tactile dimension.
The collection does not abandon the LaQuan Smith fantasy; instead, it gives that woman more places to take it. The final looks return to the designer’s familiar territory of heightened glamour, including a lace-up-back minidress conceived for a night out in New York, Los Angeles or Miami. That balance between practical daytime dressing and unapologetic evening sensuality reflects a brand becoming more expansive without losing the attitude that defines it. For Smith, the challenge now is not moving away from sexy dressing, but proving that it can belong to a much larger wardrobe.
