Toga Spring/Summer 2027

For Spring/Summer 2027, Toga’s Yasuko Furuta embraced the breeze, balancing sharp tailoring with sheer layers, bare skin and playful movement in a collection made for the heat.

At Somerset House’s River Terrace, the weather became part of the show. Wind caught the tassels hanging from sleeves and cuffs, sent feathers fluttering from bags and gave short dresses an extra sense of movement. It was an appropriate setting for a collection interested in the idea of dressing for summer without necessarily stripping everything back.

Furuta continued Toga’s talent for mixing opposing wardrobe languages. Pleated skirt overalls arrived with open fronts, paired with loose sheer leggings that offered coverage while keeping the silhouette light. Elsewhere, transparent floral shirts were tucked into micro shorts with folded panels projecting from the hips — clothes designed as much for catching air as catching attention.

The more revealing pieces were balanced by sleek tailoring. Patterned pantsuits brought a sharper, more sophisticated side to the collection, softened with layers of sheer silk that allowed the structure underneath to remain visible. One particularly striking all-black look paired an exaggerated V-neck sweater with trousers finished with tasseled cuffs, while dangling diamond accessories added a flash of glamour.

There was a sense of practicality beneath the playfulness. Toga’s Spring/Summer 2027 wardrobe does not treat summer dressing as a choice between coverage and exposure, tailoring and ease. Instead, Furuta lets the two exist together — building layers that move, breathe and reveal just enough. At Somerset House, even the wind seemed to agree.
