Stéphane Rolland Fall 2026
For Fall 2026 Couture, Stéphane Rolland looked to one of France’s most iconic performers, Dalida, presenting a collection that explored the connection between haute couture, music and stage presence.
Shown at Paris’ legendary Olympia theatre, the same venue where Dalida performed, the presentation marked 40 years since the singer’s death. Black-and-white images and archival footage formed the backdrop as Rolland created a collection inspired by her distinctive combination of vulnerability, strength and elegance.
The designer approached Dalida’s legacy through purity and restraint, building the collection around a predominantly white palette. Fluid gowns in crepe, gazar, chiffon, organza and satin reflected the sense of movement associated with performance, while intricate embroidery and precious stones added the refinement expected from the couture atelier.
Silhouettes shifted between structure and fluidity. Sculpted bustiers, flowing capes, long pareos and dramatic coats appeared alongside gowns designed to move with the body. A white satin macramé dress featured an organza overskirt finished with ostrich feathers, while another pleated crepe satin gown was embroidered with grey agate cabochons and crystals.
Jewellery and styling reinforced the connection to Dalida’s own image, with precious stones, yellow and black diamonds, and sleek hairstyles recalling the singer’s unmistakable presence. Yet the collection did not attempt to recreate her wardrobe; instead, Rolland focused on the emotion and theatricality that defined her performances.
The designer also drew inspiration from the lyrical world surrounding Dalida’s era, referencing the emotional writing of artists such as Jacques Brel and Léo Ferré. That sense of storytelling appeared throughout the collection, with silhouettes unfolding like different moments in a performance.
The show concluded with a live performance by Tunisian singer Oumaima Taleb, accompanied by an orchestra led by Egyptian conductor Hany Farahat, bringing the collection back to its central theme: couture as a form of expression.
With Fall 2026 Couture, Stéphane Rolland celebrated Dalida not by looking backwards, but by exploring the qualities that made her enduring — elegance, emotion and the ability to command a room.
