Mossi Fall 2026

For Fall 2026, Mossi Traoré staged a theatrical, irreverent presentation at the Paris Court of Appeal, framing his collection as a mock courtroom trial. Entitled a “trial of Mossi,” the show transformed legal tropes into inventive fashion narratives: asymmetric draping, pleated balloon sleeves, and layered textures reimagined robes, jackets, and capes, while denim was inverted or distorted as playful nods to his personal mythos.

Traoré’s collection leaned into performative spectacle as much as craft. Tweeds evoked imagined transgressions, half-assembled garments emphasized duality, and exaggerated volumes played with legal iconography. Even the audience was part of the performance, encountering a cast of judges, lawyers, victims, and a faux Anna Wintour, each inhabiting roles that punctuated the designer’s tongue-in-cheek self-incrimination.

Despite the theatricality, the work demonstrated Mossi’s precision and inventiveness in tailoring and volume manipulation. Every silhouette—whether a pleated jacket with multiple “arms” or an asymmetrically spliced coat—balanced humor with structural sophistication, making the presentation a compelling intersection of narrative, architecture, and fashion. The show proved Traoré’s ability to turn concept into couture, transforming the weighty grandeur of the Palais de Justice into a stage for imagination and craftsmanship.
