Mantù Spring/Summer 2027

Mantù’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection makes a virtue of restraint. Rather than chasing a defining gimmick or an oversized seasonal concept, the Italian label returns to clean silhouettes, considered fabrics and a distinctly feminine ease. The clothes are designed to frame the wearer rather than compete with her, which sounds simple enough, although achieving that kind of simplicity without drifting into blandness is considerably harder.

Colour provides much of the collection’s personality. Tangerine, navy, pink and red interrupt a foundation of beige, giving otherwise controlled silhouettes moments of warmth and intensity. The fabric choices are equally important. Metal cotton introduces a subtle architectural sheen, while soft modal falls close to the body; crinkled cotton-linen, taffeta and linen-ramie create contrasting textures. Rather than relying on complicated construction, Mantù uses the material itself to give shape and movement to relatively straightforward pieces.

The collection’s interest in imperfection is particularly welcome. Crushed cotton and linen are allowed to retain their wrinkles, turning what might traditionally be treated as a flaw into part of the finished garment. Sangallo brings delicacy and transparency, while exclusive floral prints add a more expressive note without overwhelming the silhouettes. The balance is not always entirely resolved — some of the simpler pieces risk becoming interchangeable with the broader language of contemporary minimalist womenswear — but the stronger looks demonstrate how much character can come from fabrication and proportion alone.

SS27 also marks Mantù’s first move into accessories through a collaboration with Italian leather-goods label GAVA. Three bags extend the collection’s emphasis on material and craftsmanship without introducing a competing visual language. It is a logical addition to the wardrobe rather than an attempt to manufacture another category. Ultimately, Mantù’s strength lies in understanding that quiet fashion still needs texture, colour and construction to hold attention. The collection does not demand to be noticed; it relies on the clothes being convincing once they are actually worn. In an increasingly noisy fashion landscape, that restraint feels deliberate rather than passive.
