Manish Malhotra Fall 2026 Couture
For his first appearance on the official Paris Couture Week calendar, Manish Malhotra chose not to introduce himself with a spectacle of ambition, but with something far more personal: a tribute to the woman who shaped him. The Indian couturier’s Fall 2026 Couture collection was created as a love letter to his late mother, who passed away shortly before he received his invitation to present in Paris.
Her influence was woven throughout the collection — from memories of her style and jewellery to the emotional connection between a mother and child. Malhotra explored the idea of love continuing beyond loss, transforming personal memories into a contemporary couture language filled with protection, growth and transformation.
The opening look captured that sentiment immediately: a dramatic crinkle-pleated opera coat enveloped the body, decorated with figures representing the evolving relationship between mother and son, from childhood dependence to adulthood. Throughout the collection, cocoon-like silhouettes suggested warmth and protection, including richly embroidered capes, soft pleated jackets and sculptural forms that appeared almost architectural.
Jewellery also played a central role, inspired by his mother’s love of bangles and traditional Indian adornment. Dresses were shaped to resemble stacked bracelets, while high jewellery pieces elevated the collection into a world of modern opulence. Diamond ear cuffs, ruby necklaces and contemporary interpretations of the traditional haathphool brought together heritage craftsmanship and a more futuristic vision.
After decades of dressing Bollywood stars and establishing himself as one of India’s most recognised couturiers, Malhotra’s Paris debut felt like the beginning of a new chapter. Rather than simply presenting his signature glamour to an international audience, he introduced the emotional story behind it — proving that couture is not only about creating beautiful clothes, but preserving the memories and people that inspire them.
