Junya Watanabe Man Spring 2027

Junya Watanabe’s Spring/Summer 2027 menswear collection in Paris continued his reputation for unpredictability, offering a show built around tracksuits, embellishment and a collision of streetwear references.

Tracksuits formed the foundation of the collection, many created in collaboration with Kappa and styled to evoke early New York hip-hop culture. Gold chains and pearls were layered over warm-up jackets, referencing the visual language of 1980s street style.

The collection, titled Bling Bling Bling, extended its focus on embellishment across both garments and accessories. Baseball caps were heavily decorated in collaboration with jewellery designer Kota Okuda, featuring oversized brooches, miniature crowns, safety pins, faux currency and chainlink details piercing the brims.

This approach to “bling” also appeared across clothing, with chains integrated into garments in a way that reworked familiar sportswear silhouettes. The result maintained a punk edge rather than a purely decorative approach to luxury.

Alongside sportswear, Watanabe introduced tailoring that was deconstructed and reconfigured into stoles, scarves and cage-like structures layered over tracksuits. The tension between formal construction and streetwear remained central to the collection.

Collaborations played a key role, including Kappa, Carhartt, New Balance, Needles and others, alongside shirtmaking partners such as Luigi Borrelli, Guy Rover and Maria Santangelo. Footwear ranged from leather trainers and canvas styles to more traditional shoes from Heinrich Dinkelacker and Tricker’s.

Accessories by INNERRAUM and Kota Okuda completed the looks, reinforcing the collection’s layered approach to collaboration and detail.

Despite the number of contributors, the collection remained cohesive, anchored by Watanabe’s focus on contrast and transformation. Bling Bling Bling reframed streetwear references through embellishment, collaboration and construction, without losing sight of his underlying design language.
