John Alexander Skelton Spring 2027

In a fashion landscape increasingly shaped by speed and constant renewal, John Alexander Skelton continues to take a different approach. For Spring 2027, the British designer returned to the themes that have defined his work: craftsmanship, historical references and the importance of materials with a sense of place.

Rather than chasing seasonal trends, Skelton’s collections often look backwards to understand the future of clothing. His latest menswear presentation continued his exploration of British workwear, traditional tailoring and rural influences, bringing together garments that feel considered, lived-in and shaped by the hands that created them.

The collection focused on the relationship between clothing and craftsmanship. Relaxed tailoring, generous proportions and utilitarian silhouettes appeared throughout, with jackets, waistcoats and trousers referencing historic forms while remaining contemporary in their execution.

Materials played a central role. Hand-loomed linens, organic cottons dyed with natural pigments and salvaged tweeds reflected Skelton’s ongoing interest in textiles that carry a sense of history and individuality. Rather than creating garments designed to appear perfectly uniform, the collection embraced the irregularities and textures that reveal the making process behind each piece.

This approach has become central to Skelton’s identity as a designer. His work challenges the idea that luxury is defined by novelty or visibility, instead placing value on provenance, longevity and the knowledge embedded within traditional techniques.

At a time when fashion is increasingly driven by speed, Skelton’s Spring 2027 collection offered a quieter perspective — one where clothing is appreciated not only for how it looks, but for how it is made and the stories it carries.
