Genaro Rivas Fall 2026
Genaro Rivas presented his latest collection, A Glass to Break, at London Fashion Week in a commanding two-floor presentation at the boutique hotel 30 Knightsbridge. The venue, a quiet nod to old-world luxury, provided an intimate yet opulent setting for a show that drew considerable attention, evidenced by long queues of attendees outside. Genaro Rivas’ evening slot on Sunday underscored the collection’s weight within the official schedule, framing his exploration of fragmentation, resilience, and reconstruction in a visually arresting context.

The collection’s conceptual foundation, as outlined by Genaro Rivas, stemmed from two striking moments in: a bullet-marked glass pane In Berlin and shattered fragments discovered on the ground during a walk with his astrologer. These images informed a design language built around restraint and intention, visible throughout the 26-look lineup. Architectural tailoring, exaggerated proportions, and deconstructed garments reassembled with precision created a tension between structure and fluidity, while a palette of deep blacks, slate greys, luminous silvers, and flashes of red reinforced the collection’s emotional intensity.
Material innovation was central to the presentation. Genaro Rivas combined traditional fabrics such as mohair, printed silk, and denim with cutting-edge biomaterials from Ponda, Banofi, and Savian by BioFluff. Lightweight insulated jackets, padded pieces incorporating reclaimed ocean-sourced nylon, and plant-based furs were seamlessly integrated, demonstrating a nuanced approach to sustainable luxury. Accessories and headpieces, co-designed with milliner Roberta Cucuzza, reinforced the sculptural quality of the collection, adding both warmth and a structural counterpoint to the garments.
Several pieces stood out for their technical execution. A leather-panelled dress exemplified the collection’s balance between precision and wearability: the fit, flow, and silhouette were flawless, avoiding the extremes of ill-fitting or overtly fetishized leather designs. Within a largely muted color palette, a fuzzy yellow coat and matching sculptural headpiece brought a rare burst of energy, transforming the model into a living, slightly surreal sculpture. Another highlight was a dress composed of large, glass-like blocks meticulously beaded onto the fabric, a labor-intensive construction that underscored Rivas’ commitment to craft and detail.

A Glass to Break is a collection that navigates the space between delicacy and force, tradition and modern rebellion. Through thoughtful tailoring, innovative materials, and sculptural accessories, Rivas explored the act of rebuilding from broken forms while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. It continues the designer’s trajectory of purpose-driven, technically sophisticated fashion, following the critical acclaim of his SS26 presentation, A Feast for Crows, and signals his growing presence in both sustainable practice and conceptual runway storytelling.
