Feng Chen Wang Spring 2027
Feng Chen Wang’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Worlds Collide, was described as a dreamscape fusion of Botticelli’s Primavera and China’s Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove. The result combined Renaissance-inspired drapery, assertive leatherwork and flowing volumes referencing scholar robes from the Jin and Wei dynasties.
The collection positioned this cultural meeting point through a balance of traditional references and modern construction. Deconstructed tailoring and streetwear elements were layered with silhouettes inspired by historical Chinese dress codes, creating a dialogue between eras and influences.
A key focus this season was innovation rooted in craft. Wang highlighted her experiment with botanical contact printing, used on two leather vests. The technique involved pressing plants directly onto sheepskin, allowing natural pigments and tannins to transfer onto the material with sunlight acting as a catalyst. Wang described it as “a natural art that allows the life of plants to continue on fabric or leather.”
Across the collection, Chinese cultural references appeared in subtle, contemporary forms. Cheongsam-inspired dresses, frog fastenings and flowing ribbon details were integrated into a deconstructed wardrobe that also included streetwear influences.
Denim was reworked with a metallic finish, presented as a form of “low-key luxury,” extending the material exploration of the season.
The show also marked the continuation of Feng Chen Wang’s collaboration with Under Armour. Several looks previewed pieces from an upcoming capsule collection, further developing the designer’s ongoing blend of performance sportswear and East–West design language.
