Elie Saab Fall 2026 Couture
As luxury fashion continues to move towards ease, practicality and everyday dressing, Elie Saab has chosen a different path: to protect the fantasy at the heart of haute couture by embracing it completely.
For Fall 2026 Couture, the Lebanese designer looked to the mythology of the grand masked ball — from Truman Capote’s legendary Black and White Ball to the glamour of Elizabeth Taylor and the golden age of Hollywood. Rather than viewing the mask as something that hides identity, Saab presented it as a symbol of transformation: a way for women to reveal different versions of themselves.
The result was a collection built around drama, elegance and timeless couture codes. Velvet corseted gowns, sumptuous brocades and cinched-waist New Look silhouettes brought back the romance of historic eveningwear, while fluid tuxedos, sharply tailored trousers and embellished jackets expanded the house’s vision of modern couture dressing.
Saab’s approach was not about reinvention, but refinement. The designer leaned into the techniques that have defined his house for decades, creating garments that celebrate the craftsmanship, precision and glamour expected from haute couture. This season, however, the embellishment felt more restrained, allowing the beauty of the materials and construction to take centre stage.
Sculptural pleating, luxurious fabrics and carefully controlled colour transitions replaced excessive ornamentation. Saab explored the movement of colour through dramatic dégradé effects, allowing shades to melt seamlessly into one another: champagne faded into blush pink, ruby shifted into deep onyx, and slate dissolved into sky blue. These tonal changes gave the gowns a sense of fluidity, as if the colours themselves were moving across the body.
Among the standout looks were velvet gowns shaped with dramatic corsetry, embroidered capes that carried the grandeur of old-world eveningwear, and a playful minidress finished with an oversized bow that brought a sense of theatrical charm. Saab also continued developing his couture offering for men, presenting embellished jackets and elegant tailoring that extended the house’s vision beyond traditional womenswear.
The collection’s references to masked celebrations and legendary parties carried a sense of nostalgia, but the house is equally focused on the future. Beyond couture, Elie Saab is continuing to expand its global presence as part of a wider strategy that includes ready-to-wear, bridal, lifestyle and hospitality.
With younger clients increasingly engaging with the brand beyond occasion dressing, the house is building a broader luxury ecosystem while maintaining the couture craftsmanship that established its reputation. New retail openings across international markets reflect that ambition, positioning Elie Saab not only as a destination for red-carpet gowns but as a global luxury brand.
For Fall 2026, Saab made a clear statement: in an era where fashion is becoming increasingly casual, there is still a place for fantasy. Haute couture’s purpose is not simply to reflect the everyday world, but to offer an escape from it — a reminder that clothing can still create moments of wonder, transformation and spectacle.
