Dior Fall 2026 Couture

For his Fall 2026 Couture collection at Dior, Jonathan Anderson continued to blur the boundaries between fashion and contemporary art, drawing inspiration from the work of American sculptor Lynda Benglis. Presented during Paris Couture Week, the collection translated the artist's unconventional approach to form and material into a series of sculptural couture looks.

Rather than treating art as a visual reference, Anderson incorporated Benglis' practice directly into the collection. Metallic draping, layered textiles and abstract silhouettes echoed the artist's experiments with materials such as beeswax, latex and porcelain, while several Dior bags featured collaborations with Benglis herself.

Throughout the collection, Anderson explored volume and movement through couture techniques that transformed familiar fabrics into sculptural forms. A silver lamé gown referenced Benglis' monumental Goliath sculpture, while layered metallic netting and chiffon recreated the artist's paper and wire constructions through the language of haute couture.

The collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship between Anderson and Benglis. During his time at Loewe, the designer worked with the American artist across jewellery, campaigns and runway presentations, making her influence a natural continuation of his creative practice at Dior.

Alongside the artistic references, the collection reflected Anderson's ongoing interest in craftsmanship and material exploration. Rather than relying on traditional couture decoration, he used construction, proportion and texture to create garments that felt expressive while remaining grounded in the precision of the atelier.

Presented just days after Anderson dressed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for their wedding, the collection arrived during a particularly high-profile moment for the designer. Yet on the runway, the focus remained firmly on his dialogue with art, demonstrating how couture can reinterpret sculpture through exceptional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
