Chet Lo Fall 2026
For Autumn Winter 2026, Chet Lo transformed the ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park into a glowing Hong Kong night market, complete with food stalls, local artists and the hum of community. After taking a one-season break, the designer returned with a renewed sense of purpose, grounding his show in memory and identity rather than spectacle. Titled Night Market, the collection was a love letter to his heritage and a reassertion of what fashion can be when it becomes a gathering rather than a performance. Friends from London’s Asian creative community set up booths alongside the runway, blurring the boundaries between commerce, culture and collaboration.
Lo’s signature spiked knits appeared more sensual and self-assured than ever, less armour and more declaration. Emerald and vermilion tones evoked neon reflections on wet city pavements, while sheer panels and sculptural tailoring added flashes of modern sensuality. Pieces inspired by Peking opera, including extravagant eyewear designed in collaboration with Cubitts, paid homage to theatrical beauty while amplifying the playfulness that defines Lo’s aesthetic. Every detail pulsed with the rhythm of Hong Kong after dark — frenetic, layered and alive.
More than a show, Night Market was a statement of inclusion. Lo invited guests from the Asian People’s Disability Alliance, providing live audio descriptions to ensure the experience could be shared by both sighted and visually impaired audiences. It was a thoughtful gesture that echoed the collection’s central idea: that visibility is both an act of love and of defiance. With Night Market, Chet Lo proved that fashion need not shout to make itself heard — it can hum, glow and gather people around its light.
