Charles Jeffrey Fall/Winter 2026

Charles Jeffrey brought the chaotic energy of East London punk to Paris with his Fall/Winter 2026 collection, “Thistle,” staged as a happening rather than a conventional runway show at Dover Street Market. Guests were greeted by a hand-painted installation—what Jeffrey described as a “pagan-punk disco”—that framed the collection’s theatrical, club-kid roots. The space pulsed with live performances from Baby’s Berserk, blurring the line between music, performance, and fashion, while the garments themselves radiated a lived-in energy where rolled sleeves, scuffed shoes, and torn hems became as essential as the clothes.

“Thistle” mined Scottish romanticism and a queered vision of nationalism as its conceptual anchor. Hybrid tailoring defined the lineup, with jackets spliced, doubled, or reassembled into entirely new silhouettes, paired with slouchy denim, ruffled skirts, and layered moss-green crochet and bouclé. Signature LOVERBOY footwear—including updated claw boots and banana shoes—punctuated the looks, while stacked knits, dissected beanies, and worn leather reinforced the collection’s experimental, protective ethos. Each ensemble felt like a personal study in movement, curiosity, and resilience.

For Jeffrey, the show marked a deliberate return to his creative origins, narrowing the label’s artistic focus while celebrating the playful, unconventional energy that first brought LOVERBOY acclaim. As he explained, the collection reflects a belief in queer curiosity as a guiding principle, allowing nationalism, costume, and historical references to be reinterpreted as a vibrant, living wardrobe. In Paris, Jeffrey proved that LOVERBOY remains a sanctuary for the unconventional, where art, performance, and fashion coexist in thrilling, unpredictable harmony.
