Burç Akyol Spring 2027

Burç Akyol turned up the heat for Spring 2027 with a wardrobe built around movement, sensuality and the demands of a life that rarely stays in one place. Inspired partly by his own hectic months of travel and personal change, the designer described the collection as a balance between tailoring and fluid dressing, with around 15 pieces of each.

Jersey became the defining material, chosen for its elasticity and ability to stretch with the wearer. Akyol imagined a woman balancing multiple roles at once, and the clothes followed suit. A trompe-l’oeil tuxedo jumpsuit, velvet halterneck unitard and lilac draped harem trousers with a leather bodysuit blurred the line between formalwear and something far more relaxed. His signature stirrup construction elongated the leg throughout.

The collection was unapologetically close to the body, with slinky silhouettes that traced the curves rather than hiding them. But Akyol avoided taking the sensuality too seriously. A dusky pink dress with cream draping offered a playful surprise from behind, creating the illusion of a thong against sun-kissed skin. It was a small detail, but one that captured the balance of polish and humour running through the collection.

Spring 2027 ultimately felt like a wardrobe designed for someone who refuses to stand still. Tailoring provided structure, jersey provided freedom, and the tension between the two gave Akyol’s sensual clothes a practical sense of movement.
