Acne Studios Men’s Spring 2027

For the past few seasons, menswear has been preoccupied with archetypes. The tourist. The outdoorsman. The athlete. This season, Jonny Johansson turned his attention somewhere far more familiar: the office.

Presented during Paris Fashion Week, Acne Studios Men's Spring 2027 imagined the modern workplace not as a place of conformity, but as a theatre of quiet competition, personal reinvention and carefully constructed identities. Johansson's office wasn't populated by anonymous men in navy suits. Instead, it was filled with golfers, creatives, executives and rebels, each dressed according to their own version of corporate success.

The result was one of the Swedish label's strongest menswear collections in recent seasons—a wardrobe that questioned whether traditional office dressing still has any relevance in an era where the boundaries between work and personal identity have almost disappeared.

Dressing the Office Archetype

Johansson revealed that the collection stemmed from memories of feeling like an outsider after moving across Sweden as a child, when he became hyper-aware of the small visual details that allowed people to belong—or marked them as different.

That fascination with observing people translated naturally into the modern workplace, where dress codes often communicate hierarchy before anyone has spoken.

Rather than creating a single uniform, Johansson imagined an office populated by distinct personalities. There was "Golfer Billy", whose pastel knitwear and sporty separates suggested country-club privilege, alongside the artistic employee whose tie and shirt appeared literally sketched onto a T-shirt.

Each look felt like a different employee arriving for work.

Preppy Meets Rockabilly

Instead of treating Ivy League classics and Americana as opposing worlds, Johansson collapsed them together.

Argyle sweaters sat alongside heavily studded denim. Traditional navy blazers were paired with exaggerated winklepicker shoes, now one of Acne Studios' defining signatures. Leather biker jackets appeared just as comfortable inside Johansson's fictional boardroom as tailored jackets.

The styling never felt nostalgic. Instead, Johansson suggested that modern masculinity is assembled from multiple identities rather than inherited from a single dress code.

That tension between conformity and individuality has become one of Acne Studios' defining strengths.

The Return of Skinny Denim

Perhaps the collection's most commercially significant moment arrived not on the runway styling, but in the denim.

After several seasons dominated by oversized silhouettes, Johansson confirmed what many buyers have quietly been observing: skinny jeans are returning.

Rather than fully embracing the skin-tight silhouettes of the early 2010s, Acne Studios refined its signature 1996 and 1979 denim fits into slimmer proportions while introducing pleated chino-inspired jeans that felt contemporary rather than nostalgic.

If recent street style has hinted at fashion's growing appetite for narrower trousers, Acne appears ready to lead that shift.

Shorts Replace Trousers

With Paris experiencing extreme summer temperatures during Fashion Week, Johansson also proposed another practical solution for contemporary dressing.

Short shorts appeared throughout the collection in shredded denim, Madras cotton and supple black leather.

While leather shorts remain unlikely office attire, their inclusion reinforced Johansson's larger point: many of the unwritten rules governing menswear deserve to be questioned.

The Goldfoil Verdict

Acne Studios Men's Spring 2027 succeeds because it avoids obvious nostalgia.

Rather than simply reviving office wear, Johansson uses it to explore masculinity, insecurity and the subtle politics of belonging. The clothes acknowledge that modern men rarely inhabit a single identity—they move between professional, creative and personal lives with increasing fluidity.

By mixing prep with punk, tailoring with denim and corporate uniforms with personal expression, Acne Studios offers a vision of menswear that feels less concerned with fitting in than choosing exactly how to stand out.
