Burberry Unveils Queen Elizabeth II Capsule With Royal Collection Trust

Burberry has unveiled a Queen Elizabeth II capsule collection created in partnership with the Royal Collection Trust, marking the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth. The Burberry Queen Elizabeth II capsule collection draws inspiration from the late monarch’s wardrobe and her long association with the British brand, which received a Royal Warrant from the Queen in 1955. Throughout her reign, Queen Elizabeth II frequently wore Burberry pieces during outdoor engagements, reinforcing the house’s reputation for elegant outerwear designed to withstand the British climate.

At the center of the Burberry Queen Elizabeth II capsule collection is a belted car coat, a silhouette the Queen often favored. The coat is produced in Castleford, Yorkshire, using lightweight cotton gabardine woven with contrasting threads that create a subtle iridescent effect. A new interpretation of the iconic Burberry House Check appears exclusively for the capsule, rendered in a holly green palette inspired by the Old Stewart Tartan, a pattern closely associated with the Queen. The check lines the coat’s silk interior and also appears on a cashmere scarf woven in Scotland and a silk twill scarf featuring a hand painted illustration of Balmoral Castle.

The Burberry Royal Collection Trust capsule arrives ahead of a major exhibition dedicated to the monarch’s wardrobe opening in April at The King's Gallery. The exhibition will be the largest fashion display focused on Queen Elizabeth II and will include original Burberry pieces worn by the Queen. Accessories within the capsule include a gold plated brooch shaped like a corgi, a nod to the monarch’s well known love of the breed, finished with an enamel plaid coat and a freshwater pearl bearing the Burberry Knight motif.

The collection is available now at Burberry.com and in select stores worldwide. It will also be sold at Royal Collection Trust locations in Edinburgh, London and Windsor, and online at RoyalCollectionShop.co.uk.
