Rahul Mishra Fall 2026 Couture
For Fall 2026 Couture, Rahul Mishra presented what he described as his most India-inspired collection to date, drawing on centuries of art, architecture and sculpture to create a contemporary vision of haute couture.
Presented during Paris Couture Week, the collection looked to landmarks including the Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra and the Tarakeshwara Temple in Karnataka, alongside 12th-century stone sculptures. Rather than recreating these historical references, Mishra translated their forms into couture through embroidery, draping and sculptural silhouettes.
Throughout the collection, garments echoed the flowing folds carved into ancient stone while remaining soft and fluid on the body. Arches, temple-inspired motifs and looping patterns appeared across gowns and eveningwear, creating silhouettes that reflected the rhythm of Indian architecture without becoming literal interpretations.
Mishra continued to develop the intricate embroidery techniques that have become synonymous with his work, using embellishment to recreate the depth and texture of carved surfaces. A palette recalling black granite, aged copper and warm gold reinforced the collection's sculptural quality, while body-conscious silhouettes reflected the designer's interest in celebrating, rather than concealing, the human form.
The season also marked Mishra's first fine jewellery collaboration, created with Indian jewellery house Tanishq. Designed using precious stones, the collection incorporated the designer's signature geometric motifs, extending the collection's dialogue between sculpture, ornament and craftsmanship.
With Fall 2026 Couture, Rahul Mishra looked to India's artistic heritage not as a source of nostalgia, but as a foundation for contemporary design. The result was a collection that brought together history, craftsmanship and couture through a distinctly modern perspective.
