Norma Kamali Spring 2027

For Spring 2027, Norma Kamali built a wardrobe around four essential categories — tracksuits, romantic layers, denim and cutout bodywear — designed to be mixed, matched and adapted to different parts of everyday life.

Kamali’s approach began with a simple idea: rather than prescribing a single way to dress, give women the ingredients to create their own combinations. Easy pull-on tracksuits formed one foundation, styled with fringed crop tops, relaxed vests, utility jackets and T-shirts carrying slogans from the designer’s book. At the other end of the spectrum, pale pink romantic layers brought bias-cut slips, sheer shawl tops, soutache gowns and smocked peasant blouses into the same wardrobe.

Denim provided another point of flexibility, ranging from true blue and washed pink velvet to black and white vegan leather. Kamali revisited her original 1977 Studio 54 silhouette alongside low-rise boot cuts, slightly wider jeans, skirts, tiny shorts and capris. The variety made the denim feel less like a seasonal statement than a practical foundation, with simple black tops, elongated sleeves and trailing hems shifting the pieces between casual and evening dressing.

Bodywear brought the collection’s more sensual side into focus. Cutout black bodysuits, swimsuits-cum-rashguards and long, fluid dresses could be worn alone, layered over catsuits or even taken into a workout wardrobe. Kamali’s use of AI also fitted neatly into her broader interest in adaptability: even the playful rap song created for the look book was built around the idea of knowing yourself and dressing accordingly. Spring 2027 ultimately feels less like a collection demanding a particular look than a system of clothes designed to give the wearer options.
