Nicomede Fall 2026

Nicomede’s Fall 2026 collection, Sacred Journey, marked a thoughtful and emotional return for British Filipino designer Nicomede Talavera. The coed presentation served as a meditation on identity, spirituality and creative renewal. It felt like a designer re-entering the conversation on his own terms, quietly but with conviction.

Now dividing his time between London and Shanghai, Nicomede described the collection as a continuation of his minimalist yet multicultural vision. The past few years have seen him reconnect with his Filipino roots and build new creative momentum across continents. His time in the Philippines provided emotional grounding, especially for his womenswear debut supported by Vogue Philippines, while Shanghai offered the resources for technical innovation and experimentation in knitwear and hardware design.

The collection drew inspiration from Filipino modernist Arturo Luz, particularly his Boxes and Shells series. Nicomede translated those still-life compositions into garments that felt both sculptural and fluid. Shell embroideries in mother-of-pearl and cowrie decorated precisely tailored pieces, while his signature design language, hook and eye fastenings, twisted plackets and sculpted lapels was reinterpreted with a sense of softness.

Womenswear brought a new emotional dimension. Sheer crinkled tops and skirts shimmered with iridescent hand-sewn details, while bold geometric headpieces extended the collection’s architectural sensibility. It was an elegant exploration of contrast, balancing restraint and richness, intellect and emotion. In Sacred Journey, Nicomede proved that stepping away can sometimes lead to the most grounded return.
