JW Anderson Spring/Summer 2027
There are fashion collections built around trends, and then there are collections built around ideas. Jonathan Anderson has always belonged firmly in the latter camp.
For Spring/Summer 2027, the designer returns to one of the principles that has quietly shaped his work for years: curation. Rather than presenting a conventional runway spectacle, JW Anderson unveiled a carefully assembled lookbook photographed by Heikki Kaski, featuring a cast of long-time collaborators, artists and creatives including Connor Swindells, Akiko Hirai, Dree Hemingway and Ivor Braka. The result feels less like a campaign and more like an intimate portrait of the creative community surrounding the brand.
The collection continues Anderson's fascination with craft, elevating familiar wardrobe staples through unexpected construction and tactile materials. Tailoring remains relaxed yet sculptural, while evening dresses appear elegantly pinched as though gathered instinctively in a single gesture. Elsewhere, heavily repaired Japanese denim celebrates imperfection, joined by loose camisoles, practical utility jackets and reinterpretations of the brand's signature fold-over trousers and Twist jeans.
Knitwear once again becomes a canvas for storytelling. Donegal wool sweaters embroidered with wildflowers sit alongside vibrant hare motifs and Scottish Fair Isle knits featuring playful squirrels, reinforcing the sense of nostalgia and craftsmanship that runs throughout the collection.
Accessories lean further into Anderson's distinctive balance between humour and luxury. Rugby-striped duffel bags, pouches and hobos are fitted with oversized utility pockets, while the standout Squirrel Clutch — complete with tiny crocheted acorns — captures the irreverent spirit that has become synonymous with the designer's work.
Beyond fashion, the collection continues JW Anderson's growing interest in lifestyle design. Wedgwood mugs inspired by ancient Etruscan pottery, Irish linen tea towels printed with playful slogans including "WOW", "FAB" and "CHIC", alongside collaborations with Johnstons of Elgin, Eddie Glew and Sunbeam Jackie, expand the collection into the home without feeling like merchandise. Instead, they reinforce Anderson's belief that design, craftsmanship and daily life should exist together.
Rather than chasing novelty, Spring/Summer 2027 feels like an exercise in collecting meaningful objects, garments and collaborations. Every piece carries the fingerprints of the people who made it, making this one of Jonathan Anderson's most personal collections to date.
