Hector Maclean Fall 2026
Hector Maclean’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Escape, is less a fashion show and more a cinematic retelling of his family history, staged under the neon-lit arches of Heaven Nightclub. A graduate of Central Saint Martins and a protégé of Vivienne Westwood, Maclean has always been a romantic storyteller with a punk streak. This season, that duality comes into full bloom. Inspired by his grandmother, Leokadia Osko, a Polish refugee who met his Scottish grandfather Donald during the war, Maclean weaves their love story into garments that feel both historical and heartbreakingly current. Military embroidery meets the softness of Polish lace, structured coats give way to gowns that sweep the floor, and the weight of history is offset by the defiant glamour of queer self-expression. It is fashion at its most personal and political, told through a language of texture, memory, and rebellion.
Showing at Heaven felt symbolic for a designer who sees fashion as a site of freedom and resistance. In a city where queer spaces continue to disappear, Maclean’s choice of venue was both nostalgic and radical, reclaiming the dancefloor as a space of storytelling. The show carried the punk energy of his mentor but softened by something tenderly human, a belief that beauty can survive devastation. Models drifted through fog and coloured light in reworked deadstock fabrics, their silhouettes speaking of survival and transformation. With Escape, Maclean cements his position as one of London’s most emotionally intelligent designers, one who reminds us that fashion’s most powerful moments often begin with love, loss, and a desire to remember.
