Brandon Maxwell Fall 2026

Brandon Maxwell skipped the runway this season, opting instead for a focused lookbook presentation that felt like a quiet declaration of what the brand does best. “On the runway, you have to do the most,” he explained. “I want to make a black pant, a great cashmere sweater, a black tailored jacket.” Gone are the novelty prints and sequined florals of spring; instead, Maxwell embraced essentials elevated through precision and unexpected detail. Velvet blazers sculpt the body with neoprene backing, cashmere sweaters are punctuated by sleek cut-outs and silver hardware, and trousers and jeans are reimagined with inverted pleats to create generous, fluid proportions. Skirts shimmer with hand-cut fil coupé or laser-cut leather, while tuxedo bib shirts, car coats with faux shearling, and integral cummerbund scarves nod to both functionality and high design.

This Fall/Winter 2026 collection is about embracing contradiction, a theme that runs through Maxwell’s personal and professional life alike. Fluid fabrics maintain structure, sensuality is framed with precision, and traditional tailoring is softened to allow movement and ease. Menswear-inspired pieces—tuxedo shirts, cotton jackets—appear alongside voluminous skirts and sculptural outerwear, creating a dialogue between strength and vulnerability, control and release. “I’ve been working on finding a balance in my own life,” Maxwell says, and that introspection is palpable across the collection, which reads as both intimate and expansive, reflecting an understanding of his audience as complex, multifaceted individuals.

Accessories punctuate the narrative, from baguette bags and leather-crafted pieces to statement jewelry set with natural stones, each choice extending the story of self-expression. Beading, hand-fraying, sequins, and sliced leather across garments reinforce a mastery of both craft and concept, while the collection as a whole feels less about display and more about projection—an invitation to inhabit each piece fully. In Maxwell’s hands, Fall/Winter 2026 is a study in refinement and introspection, a range that balances modern femininity with quiet drama and encourages viewers to consider fashion as part of a larger journey of self-discovery.
