Bottega Veneta Fall 2026

If her debut was about reintroducing Bottega Veneta’s iconic Intrecciato weave, Louise Trotter’s sophomore collection took texture to the next level—quite literally. For Fall 2026, she turned the runway into a moving study of surfaces, sending 80 models charging across a lipstick-red carpet at near cinematic speed. Every step made the collection shimmer, quiver, and sway: silken threads caught the light, fil coupé glistened, recycled fiberglass flashed, and shearling flickered like brushstrokes on canvas. It was fashion as kinetic sculpture, a love letter to the artisans whose craft defines the house.

“I work with the most incredible artisans,” Trotter said post-show. “The pursuit of craft is central to everything we do.” That devotion was evident in the sheer variety of textures on display. A bristled overcoat looked like thousands of matchsticks arranged in rhythmic motion, while a leather trench rippled like glossy licorice. The palette moved from soft taupes and dusty greens to gleaming blacks and chromatic bursts of copper, proving that hairiness can be sensual rather than absurd. Sculptural tailoring balanced the extravagance: blazers cut with full sleeves and curved shoulders flared open to reveal short gored skirts or full, mannish trousers. This season, volume was power—not protection.

While Trotter’s Bottega Veneta lives firmly in Milan, she filters the city’s brutalist sensuality through her own British precision. There were nods to Maria Callas and Pier Paolo Pasolini, figures who embodied performance and intellect, beauty and edge. The menswear was equally refined—plush pea coats, military knits with leather patches, and padded leather officer’s coats that spoke to quiet confidence rather than excess. Each piece was built with astonishing complexity: one curly swing coat, for example, was crafted from over two thousand individual shearling elements. Yet for all the opulence, the takeaway was delightfully democratic. “Pop one collar of your white shirt outside your jacket,” Trotter suggested with a smile. “It’s the simplest way to look Fall 2026.”
