Paloceras Introduces Nouvelle Fiction
For those of you who know me personally, hi. This is another one of those posts where I go on about sunglasses, geeking over the shape, the brand messaging, the colour, and how incredible they’d look on you once the days stretch a little longer and the sun decides to show up for more than five minutes at a time. Today, I want to talk about Paloceras and their new collection, Nouvelle Fiction.
Their sculptural pebble frames have already found fans across music, film and design, and are stocked in more than a hundred boutiques around the world. And who could blame them? The personable design and bold silhouette give off that quiet nod of I understand fashion, confident without saying much at all.
Forget tortoiseshell and tired aviators. Nouvelle Fiction introduces fluid forms, fresh colours, defined volumes, rounded contours and perfectly spherical temple tips. The palette, created specifically for optical use, moves between soft neutrals, translucent tones and expressive marbled patterns that feel both modern and timeless.
Paloceras explains that the inflated shapes are created through a controlled hot-pressing process that allows volume to form with precision rather than being added as surface detail. This technique creates sculptural presence while ensuring structural stability and prescription suitability. The result is smooth, architectural eyewear that is recognisably Paloceras, paired with lenses from Divel Italia featuring high-grade coatings and anti-reflective treatments for clarity and durability.
“It was about retaining the emotional charge of our sculptural frames while letting them settle into something quieter, more instinctive to wear,” says Alexis Perron-Corriveau, Design Director at Paloceras. “The expression is more restrained, but the identity remains unmistakable.”
Nouvelle Fiction positions eyewear as part of a lived narrative, not just a tool for seeing but an expressive object that frames personality, presence and mood.
